INTERSECTION

After critically analyzing some of the most crucial connection details pertaining to the skin and structure of the buildings in question we were asked to invent an intersection. It is framed within a 16” x 16” cube and addresses the architectonics of point, line, and plane along the x, y, and z-axis. The joint was constructed abstractly, but heavily guided by careful analysis of the building. This joint shows the intersection of two beams and a corner column, and between two double paned glass sheets and their respective mullions. The exterior I beams on the corner column are implicitly defined in the wooden model. This intersection reads at 3” = 1’ in relation to the building itself.
