This is my initial idea for what would be an intervention into the water. As the Surveyor’s House held water in the idea for this intervention was to hold water out as it extended into the water. Based on similar principles explored in Mies van der Rohe’s buildings and from the principles applied in the intersection joint I created a bride of water that held water in while holding a vessel which moved within it holding water out. The inhabitant could use this dry vessel to move east bound using the natural current from the northbound river in order to reach the opposite coast. This simple transportation system also featured an information center or visitor’s center. This space acted buoyantly in the y direction. This model is made from chipboard at 1/4" = 1'.
